Reflection.

Hey wow I never finished that past blog. Eh.

The real reason I'm here is to reflect upon the highlight of last weekend in Sacramento. One event really stood out me and is the reason I'm still awake at this hour. I don't know how I got to be thinking about it but I can still see it happening in my head.

The day was incredibly long...lots of run thrus, tons of naps, and plenty of mini-vitamin water to go around.

The real story begins just around intermission time. We were 4th after a 20 minute intermission so we all began to get dressed as soon as we found out it was intermission. Still groggy from the humid nap I took I stumbled outside to see a bunch of dancers huddled around the food table snacking on left overs. I searched and gathered whatever company members were outside to tell them to change and get ready because we were about to run the formations again to ensure all our traffic was clear due to the last minute changes we had to make. We were down to half our usual army onstage and it was a little tricky getting the story to read without our numbers. What's funny is that the show was actually easier to read this time around because of pats creative genius. He definitely pulled a rabbit out his hat on this one. It was good...really good.

Subi took the lead while I helped him out and watched if there were any traffic issues. I thought we were doing well but you could see the toll that the heat and random rains were taking on our energy levels. It was so weak.

Showtime was approaching and pat was still inside judging and tallying his own score sheets (WTF).

I tried to get thru to find him but the production team still had us on lockdown and we couldn't even cross from backstage to the side of the stage. When I got back to everybody they were already outside and gathering for the pregame boom. We waited and waited for pat but we didn't know if he was gonna make it or not. Nobody wanted to boom without him but we had to. It's necessary for the company to even function right on stage. We made a decision and decided to do it.

We did it but it definitely didn't feel right. We gathered ourselves and started to head back and as soon as we turned pat came running thru the back door and an uplifting rush coursed thru all of us. We hurried back to the cutty spot where we boomed. the air was different...it was so electric I could hardly contain myself. Pat gave us the pep talk about repping hard and to keep character...after all we did have a story to tell. He told us about the whack audience and sorry to say the not up to par level of dancing that was going on. It was up to us to pick the audience up. We boomed harder than we have in awhile...it was awesome.

After the freestyle circle we were up. We tore the house down. After leaving the stage everyone felt good. That never happens.

What an awesome way to end season 4 of the company.

numb.

i don't know why but thats how i feel. lately its been hard to keep going. i know what i have to do and where i want to go but i just can't keep moving.

its kinda like the other day when i was watching american gladiators on espn classic. if you've seen that show then you should remember that event called "atlasphere." its when you roll around in that hamsterball cage and try to land in those bowls and hold still til the actuators blow smoke. both of the women managed to shake their gladiators and score but they couldn't get themselves out of those scoring bowls. the point is to keep going and keep scoring but how can you score if you're stuck?

i can't say that i've scored yet...but for a good amount of time i was setting myself up for the good score. i accomplished my tasks at the time and i was really feeling good about myself.

the high kept going leading me thru my san diego trip and even past that down to recital. after that...nothing.

my motivation...my spark...it was gone. i think about it everyday but for some reason i just can't get myself going.

today was a little different. i was supposed to help with my mom with some stuff at 10am but i ended up oversleeping and waking up at 10. i called her and told her that i would be over there at 11. then i looked and saw a missed call from my mentor john. i haven't spoke to him since before body rock so i decided to call him back. he congratulated me on the 2nd place win because my boy niel told him about it and asked me if i could help him out with a couple inspections. i told him that i could do it and i needed to call my mom to reschedule for a later time. i got ready called my mom and as soon as i got ready he was already waiting for me in the driveway. i felt bad because erika had just arrived and i had to leave her.

just talking to john should be a means for inspiration because ultimately he's in the financial position i want to be in. well...the economy sucks...for everyone...and while he's still sorting stuff out he is still making a killing out there. now what i mean by wanting to be in his situation...hes doing his deals and hes getting paid. i am fortunate not to have some of the obligations he has to attend to but if i were making his kind of money in my financial situation i'd be living like i've never lived before.

i was glad to help and keep him company on his route today because a lot of the stuff that he says to me i need to sink in. i even listen in on the way he talks to people on the phone. this guy will turn the table on you if you're trying to do some shady stuff and you'll be left wondering why you even tried to pull a fast one. geez. this guy is good and i wanna be THAT good.

after the inspection we stopped by his office to take care of a couple issues then we headed to kamameshi for lunch.

he gave me a quick pep talk to keep going with studying for my license then dropped me off home.

i was so tired when i got back i ended up falling asleep on erika while she wanted to spend time. i felt like an asshole.

worst of all i ended up sleeping so long that my mom left and i couldn't help her so i gotta do it tomorrow....which cuts into the time that should be spent with erika. geez. i'm f*cking up left and right here.

my sister came over and i updated her iphone. we hung out which is cool cuz soon she'll be moving to san jose and i probably won't see her much at all when she starts school again. at about 11pm we went to go to starbucks...i was supposed to go hang out with my friends but ended up thinking about stuff in my car and i headed home to work one the audition/SI flyers...

geez. i'm tired. i'll see if i can squeeze in some time tomorrow and finish this one.

-not finished...

weekend recapitulation.

i've had quite a weekend so far. lets start on

FRIDAY:

i got up about 7:30am because lately i've been back to training myself to wake up early. the past week or so i've actually been waking up before my alarm. its not even just before my alarm...but WAY before my alarm...like maybe by 15 minutes.

i get ready and all professional looking and by 9 my mentor john picked me up and we headed over to san mateo for a couple showings. our first appt. was at 9:30am with a potential buyer. as soon as 9:30 hit we looked around and decided to text him asking him to confirm if he was coming and that we were only going to wait until 10. he quickly replied back and within 10 minutes he showed up. we took him on a quick tour of the house from the backyard all the way thru to master bedroom.

it was awesome to see the way john talks to people. hes energetic and always has someway to make a client laugh really making them feel at ease and comfortable. definitely one of the traits i hope rubs off on me.

after that appt. left we still had one at 10. they were a little late too but that appt. was so short. john had me show them around. basically i just mimicked what john did the first time around. they really didn't ask questions or have anything to say. at some points it was very awkward because some of the comments i would make would have absolutely no response. i laughed at myself afterward.

around maybe 11 we left and sat in 101 traffic all the way back to daly city. john dropped me off and erika was waiting for me at home.

we decided to chill for awhile and lay down and decided to watch angels and demons. we caught the 4:20 showing but before that we stopped by fat dog to get our grub on. she had a polish and i had the coney dog. it was tight. back to the movie.

it was tight. haha. overall it was a crazy and amazing movie. i guess i really liked it because i love those religious type movies AND those movies that involve science and secret societies. if you get a chance...definitely go.

afterward we went to bj's had a drink and walked around tanforan.

we got home and watched nick and norah's infinite playlist (netflix) then headed over to niels cuz he bought the obama henn.

not much to say other than movies and hennessy. erika knocked out after 2 shots. haha served. we were home by 2am.

SATURDAY:

since this is getting a little long i'll abbrev. whn i cn.

-up and ready by 9:30 cuz i thought pat was gonna swoop me up by 10...didn't til 11.

-met up everyone at westlake and headed out.

-detour to sonic over in woodland. it was crackin. but hot.

-stopped by walmart in natomas...picked up some grey sweats.

-to the venue...it was burning hot.

GREAT show...we practiced in the sweltering heat...our faces got burned...eyes stinged with with sweat and humid sacramento air.

i felt really good about the peformance. i don't feel like i messed up anywhere...at least i can't remember messing up.

got to kick it with jay and vinh and some other of the supergalactic family. it was dope...they even came back to del taco afterward with us to grab food and chill before they headed to the cast afterparty. although it sounded fun we were off back home.

even back home it was hot. wtf. attempted to watch an episode of BSG...but fell asleep within minutes.

SUNDAY:

up at 7:30am. cleaned up a bit...got ready for my appt. at 9:30am. went upstairs to find my nieces watching tv in the living room. my cousin(their mom) was at bay to breakers which i missed to have the meeting. i let my uncle know that i had appt.

went back downstairs to watch the episode of naruto that i missed on thursday. although i did enjoy this filler at first...i'm tired of it now. get back to the manga already please.

went back upstairs at 9:15...around 9:25 i called the realtor to confirm they were still coming. they had no idea what i was talking about. confused i said thank you and got off the phone. 3 minutes later they called me back asking about another property...i scheduled an appt. for them...and briefly asked about the confusion...it appears that even though we did confirm an appt...because i put it in my calendar right away...they didn't confirm with their client and didn't tell me. i guess that happens a lot in this industry. just gotta get used to it.

now here i am...watching the pacquiao/hatton fight to get my motivation on. actually it made me realize how tired i am...and now i'm going for a quick nap before i go to practice and pat makes us burn in the sun while blocking the set.

i'll leave you with this little secret...see if it works at your local supermarket.

p.s. is it not too much to ask for a local netflix store to be available for those who would like to drop off and pick up items off their queue. or does that defeat some sort of purpose?

i think it'll actually be more efficient. they should take me on as an operations consultant.
