LEFT EMPTY HANDED...

honestly this is probably the best situation when someone leaves empty-handed. no...it wasn't me...but it left me in a happy yet angry mood.

well...as me and erika got back to my house from watching 2 fast 2 furious...we found that after unlocking my door downstairs it was bolted shut from inside. mind you i never use that bolt because it doesn't lie in a straight position. to even align the bolt with the bolt holder you have to lift my door up and slide it in position. a little bit of effort is needed but i'm just too lazy to use it. but its not even that...it was bolted from the inside and physically impossible to do when leaving thru the garage. erika and i both stood there confused because i unlocked the doornob and the door still would not budge.

we looked at each other and the first thing i said was, "its bolted from the inside!" in a panic i rushed upstairs and asked my uncle to come with me downstairs and around the house...as we got downstairs i realized we didn't have a flashlight because it was about 9:50pm and pitch black at the sides and back of the house. after he returned downstairs we went around the back to find the side door unlocked...we continued thru to the back and i saw the screen door to my window posted up against the wall.

at that point...fear somehow escaped my body and i was ready for anything to come my way. my window was closed and the lights were off...(which was odd because my laptop and external monitor usually act as a night light when i'm not home.) i quickly open my UNLOCKED window and threw open the vertical blinds. we shine the flashlight all around and no one was insight. i hopped thru the window and rushed to the other side of room to switch on the lights...immediately after that i went to my closet and forced it open...nobody there. i scanned under my bed...nobody. i ran in my bathroom...still nothing.

i went back to the door leading to the garage and it was definitely bolted shut. i unbolted it and paranoidly looked around. i looked over at my computer...which was still there...but it was shut. i never shut my computer....i leave it on and open. my dvd case which is normally shut was pried a bit open. and one of my small art bags which was buried in my ikea cubby was on top of some closed with some of my pens in my laptop bag next to it. after a close look nothing seemed to be missing.

i ran outside and opened my garage to see if anyone was outside..and 2 houses down my neighbor was standing talking on his phone. i couldn't really remember but i think i saw him when me and erika got home. i ran over to him and asked him if he saw anybody leaving my house or anything. he didn't see anything and after a quick convo with him, he convinced me to report it. i ran back and doublechecked the backyard. i went back inside and was talking to my aunt who was standing in disbelief that that happened to our house. my aunt grabbed the house phone and before we could find the daly city police direct number my neighbor came over called me and handed his cell phone over and the police were already on the line. i briefly talked with dispatch and ten minutes later the police arrived.

after going thru with the officers about what happened since we got home...all he could really say to me is that it was amazing none of my stuff was gone. i was as shocked as he was but still...someone was in my home. i concluded that when i got home he must have gotten spooked and cut out while i was trying to open the door. yeah i am thinking that he was in my room in my presence. why else would nothing be missing?

someone was definitely there. if that door was deadbolted shut...the only other way out would have been thru that window. i'm glad nothing was taken and i'm even happier no-one was hurt. i forgot to mention that as i was asking my uncle to come with me and saw a boxcutter on top of a balikbayan box in the living room and grabbed it and had it in my hand the whole time we were searching my room. i was ready to cut some fool.

speaking with one of the officers we figured out that i must have left the window unlocked and it was easy for the perp to enter. regardless if my window was locked or not i figure there was just as much chance for the thief to break my window...after all he did find his way to my backyard and still saw the inside of my room.

my paranoid way of thought is now telling me to be even more paranoid. whoever was in my room...although they took nothing...knows exactly whats in my room. that puts me really on edge now. they could return. who knows when?

geez. i wish all this were made up...i really do. i may have to skip the workshop and practice tomorrow just because of this. we'll see what happens.
